The Ad-hoc Group „Health Communication“, which is part of the German Journalism and Communication Science Association (DGPuK), was founded in November 2012. The group was created to institutionalize this field of research, which is relevant both for society and communication science. This also entails the annual ad-hoc group convention. After two successful conventions in Hannover (2013) and Mainz (2014), the third convention titled “Health Communication: Tensions between Theory and Practice” will be held in Lugano this year.

Researchers and practitioners who are interested in communication processes and strategies in the health sector are invited to take part. This convention addresses both the medical as well as the public health domains.
